Last night was our final dress rehearsal. IT'S FINALLY OPENING NIGHT.
I had a fascinating experience onstage last night during one of my scenes with Jeanna. During the scene, Jenny chases me (Faye) around the couch as Faye tries to explain her reasons for having an affair. During one chase sequence, we made a completely spontaneous move that we hadn't rehearsed before. As I looked at Jeanna, her eyes actually flashed. I've never seen anything like that before. It was quite amazing and I realized in that instant that it was "Jenny Malone" not Jeanna Michaels that was with me on the stage. I don't want to was all "philosophical" about the experience, I just want to share it.
Otherwise, to my fellow Compass points: Break a leg tonight. This experience with all of you has been remarkable and unforgettable. Steve, as always, you're my rock and doing this play with you has been an incredible journey. Dave, you are such an amazing natural talent with a great sense of humor and an innocence and vulnerability that really comes through on the stage. It's been so fun getting to know you better. Jeanna, my gratitude and respect for you are virtually unlimited. Your patience and persistence with us "greenhorns" has been remarkable. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Love you all!!!
