I had been working with Elizabeth on putting together the program for the show. At one point I paused because I became overwhelmed with emotion. I am moved and humbled by the number of people who have contributed in small and large ways to help us bring our first production into reality. That I could convince others to put their trust, time, and money into my dream just became more than the moment could hold.
I will forever be grateful to my closest friends, Judy and Diane, for their efforts and for listening to me run hair-brained ideas by them... over and over and over. They both try desperately to keep my feet on the ground. And at times I have not been a good friend in return... And still, they put up with me. I love them both and will make it up to both of them after we open this play.
I will forever be grateful to the Sun City Grand Drama Club....because had I not gotten involved there, I never would have met the other three points of the Compass - Dave, Frances, and Steve. And I am oh so grateful to the three of them, that I tear up even as I type this. Words cannot express how I feel for the three of you.
I am grateful to Dan Schay and Theater Works for opening their arms and welcoming us into their space and family so that we could nurture this production into existence. It is our intention to keep up the high standard of quality that your brand is known for, and hopefully continue that tradition forward.
I am grateful to all the people who have backed us on Kick Starter... because THAT was a true leap of faith. We will not let you down.
And to all the people who did small things... they are all important. The woman at Cardinal Stadium who let us in for free so we could shoot pictures at the stadium. Dave's friend for letting us store the set furniture at their house, Trilogy Players for turning us on to websites and plays, Brenda for taking our logo and putting it into three-dimensional format... I could go on and on. I guess you'll just have to get to the theater early and read the entire program.
And I am not going to tell you how many days until we open......
